General Curriculum Information:
A strong Core Knowledge curriculum
compliments the skills-based North Carolina Standard Course of Study by
providing carefully sequenced and challenging knowledge in which to ground
skills instruction.
This curriculum is integrated with and
supported by Open Court Language Arts, Saxon Math, and Empowering Writers.
It is partnered with character-trait education ensuring a solid, challenging,
yet balanced educational environment
An integrated physical education and sports
program offers soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, cheerleading,
baseball, softball, golf and more.
Lincoln Charter School's academic program is
enhanced by many extra-curricular activities both during and after school.
Offerings include exploratory classes, Beta, Student Government, Yearbook,
National Jr. Honor Society, Duke University TIP, Eagle Wings Tutoring
Program, Art and Chess.
Admission Information:
Kindergarten enrollment is by lottery.
Incoming student names are drawn from registered applicants to fill classes.
All other openings for the calendar year are filled based on availability
and waiting list applicants.

is Awarded Grant from Timken
Foundation of Canton
Denver, NC – Trustees of Timken
Foundation of Canton, along with the help of local representatives Wayne
Lowe and Todd Lautzenheiser, recently approved Lincoln Charter School for a
matching grant in the amount of $150,000. This grant will raise vital
funds to purchase equipment and furnishings for their new Science and
Technology facilities. Lincoln Charter School recognizes that engaging
students in math, science, and technology is one of the most important
factors in creating tomorrow's workforce and is very excited about this
unique opportunity given to their students. The Timken Foundation of Canton
will match, dollar for dollar, funds donated to Lincoln Charter School by
September 2008 up to the amount of $150,000. All donor names will be placed
on a plaque to be displayed in the school at the end of their campaign. If
