October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. Lincoln Charter clubs hosted a variety of events to raise awareness and funds to support the initiative. The Denver Campus Elementary Eagles Advisory Council sold 300 Breast Cancer Awareness tattoos from 8:00 am- 9:00 am on Friday, October 29. The students decorated the tattoo booth, organized a schedule of volunteers, and helped younger students put on their tattoos. They raised $357.21! The Middle School Eagle Advisory Council sponsored a Pink Sticker War between Core 1 classes October 27 - 29. The Core 1 class that purchased the most stickers won a pizza lunch sponsored by the MSEAC. The stickers were sold for $.50 cents. Our middle school students purchased over 3500 stickers!! Our entire middle school worked hard to earn pizza and make this a great fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, raising $1,775.90. To continue the efforts of Pink Out, Interact Club held multiple fundraisers throughout the week of October 25- October 29, with all the proceeds going towards the Susan G Komen Foundation. Members of Interact helped coordinate and volunteer in a bake sale, Change for a Cure, pink hair spray, and Stuck for a Buck. Through all of these fundraisers together, we were able to raise $1621.61!
Pink Out at the Lincolnton Campus was sponsored by the HS Student Leadership Team/Eagle Advisory Council. During the week of October 25-29th we hosted Change for a Cure and collected money in morning and afternoon car rider lines. On October 29th the Pink Out Stations were open for students to purchase pink items and pink hair streaks. The support from students and families was unbelievable.
